Day 1

Road Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Begin your adventure with an early morning departure from Kampala/Entebbe. The journey to Kidepo Valley National Park covers approximately 700km through the heart of Uganda's northern region. Travel through diverse landscapes, passing through traditional villages and witnessing the changing scenery as you head north. Stop for lunch in Gulu town, the largest urban center in northern Uganda. After lunch, continue your journey through Kitgum, enjoying the rugged beauty of the Karamoja region. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon, settle in, and enjoy a well-deserved dinner. The long drive is an adventure in itself, offering glimpses of rural Ugandan life and stunning landscapes.

Day 2

Full Day Exploring Kidepo Valley - Morning & Afternoon Game Drives

Rise before dawn for a full day of wildlife exploration after your long journey. Your morning game drive begins at sunrise when predators are most active. Kidepo is one of the few parks in Uganda where you can spot cheetahs, and it boasts healthy populations of lions, leopards, and wild dogs. The morning drive through the Narus Valley offers spectacular sightings of elephants, buffalo herds, zebras, and the distinctive Jackson's hartebeest. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation during the heat of the day. In the afternoon, venture out for another game drive, exploring different sectors of the park. As the day cools, wildlife becomes active again, providing excellent photographic opportunities against the backdrop of Mount Morungole and the rugged Kidepo landscapes.

Day 3

Kidepo River Exploration & Cultural Encounter

After breakfast, embark on a drive to the Kidepo River area, known for its vast plains and seasonal river. Explore the dry riverbed and surrounding areas, which offer a different ecosystem from the Narus Valley. This area is particularly good for bird watching, with opportunities to spot ostriches, secretary birds, and various raptors. In the afternoon, experience a cultural visit to a nearby Karamojong community. Learn about their traditional way of life, cattle-herding culture, and unique customs. This immersive cultural experience provides insight into one of Uganda's most distinctive ethnic groups. Return to your lodge for a sundowner drink while watching the spectacular African sunset over the wilderness.

Day 4

Final Morning Game Drive & Return Journey

Enjoy one last early morning game drive as you bid farewell to the wilderness of Kidepo. This final drive offers a last opportunity to spot wildlife you may have missed and to capture final photographs of this magnificent landscape. Return to the lodge for breakfast before beginning your return journey to Kampala. The drive back takes you through the beautiful Karamoja landscape with lunch stops along the way. Arrive in Kampala in the evening, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport for your onward journey, filled with unforgettable memories of one of Africa's most remote and beautiful wilderness areas.
